PART 2
-
eBike Battery Services
General
-
Online orders can take up to 2 working days to be processed including collections and dispatches.
-
Prices and images are subject to change without notice.
-
If we cannot repair a battery for technical reasons outside of our control (e.g. parts not available or anti-tamper chipped BMS), in such situations we still charge a £18.00 nominal fee for the return of the battery, or we can recycle your battery for no additional cost.
-
Disposal of old lithium batteries are calculated at £3.50 inc VAT a KG, however we may also recycle your old battery for no cost on a case by case basis.
-
For more complex jobs we may recommend longer testing time to fully load and capacity test a battery beyond the standard 1 hour diagnostic fee.
-
After diagnostic of the issue we will issue a full repair estimate.
-
Total service time can take up to 10 working days, if there are any delays we will contact you first.
Repairs
-
All our repair work comes with a 30-day guarantee from once you receive it back relating to the work we carried out unless otherwise stated.
-
Additional issues outside of what was repaired will not be covered, for example if a battery is found to have other cells displaying a fault that were not replaced. (Lithium cells can degrade and self discharge over time due to SEI layer growth, loss of active lithium, structural damage from cycling, and thermal stress, leading to reduced capacity and efficiency.)
-
However, if within 30-days of return to you it is found that a cell revival or voltage re-balancing service has failed due to unforeseen slow self discharging cells and it's clear a re-cell is needed, we can offer an upgrade to a rebuild for the cost difference at our discretion.
Full Rebuilds / Recelling
-
We offer 6 Months RTB Warranty on batteries we fully rebuild using our own cells or for new builds. If the rebuilt battery fails due to our workmanship or faulty parts within this period, we will repair or rebuild it at no additional cost.
-
Warranty does not cover issues arising from misuse, accidental damage, or modifications made by the user, this warranty period also carries over to the BMS if this too was replaced.
-
This 6 month period is only valid for complete cell replacements / rebuilds, any partial cell replacements fall under the 30-day repair guarantee.
-
Generally we do not provide refunds on battery new builds or re-cells. It is a time-consuming process that requires a very high level of electronics expertise to build a Li-ion battery pack. If we can prove that the battery is working beyond reasonable doubt, the only compromise we can offer in this regard is to take back our cells and offer a pro rata refund.
-
Refunds are offered at our discretion.
Shipping
-
Unless otherwise specified, all shipments are sent by an established courier of our choice. Quicker, express services are available upon request and additional charges will be incurred.
-
We do not ship to APO/FPO military address or P.O Box addresses.
-
We are not responsible for any loss or damage of the package caused by the carriers / couriers. If you would like to arrange your own postage, or prefer to drop it over personally to our Bristol based office, please contact us in advance.
Cancellation
All orders must be cancelled within 48 hours. While we may attempt to cancel / hold / make changes if the order has not shipped, depending on how far into the process we are it may not be possible to cancel.
Once the order has shipped it cannot be cancelled.

Maintenance: Customers are responsible for the proper maintenance and care of the battery, including regular charging and storage in suitable conditions.
Inherent Risks of Lithium-Ion Battery Usage:
-
Lithium-Ion batteries (and other rechargeable batteries) are potentially hazardous and dangerous when subjected to abusive conditions. As such, they can become hot, explode or ignite thus causing serious injury to person or damage to property. This is known as ‘Thermal Runaway’. TECH-NIC holds no responsibility for any injury or damage caused by thermal runaway of Lithium-Ion batteries (or other rechargeable batteries). You, the purchaser and/or user of any Lithium-Ion battery or product containing Lithium-Ion batteries are responsible for the use of such products.
-
When using a Lithium-Ion battery never connect the positive and negative terminals of the battery to each other with any conductive material (also known as a “short”, “short-circuit” or “shorting” the battery). This will cause the battery to rapidly discharge energy into the conductive material, heating both the material and the battery and potentially causing injury or damage from the battery or material becoming hot, igniting and/or exploding. Never store your battery with any conductive materials that may short the battery such as necklaces, hairpins, watches or other metal objects.
-
Keeping your battery in a safe location can help reduce, but not completely eliminate, the risks associated with using a Lithium-Ion battery. Never expose your battery to water (especially salt water) or allow the battery to get wet. Avoid storing the battery in any location where it may come into contact with water. When not in use keep your battery at room temperature (20-25 Degrees), and out of direct sunlight. Do not place the battery in or near fire, stoves, microwaves, or other heat generating devices.
-
Always turn your battery off when not in use and never charge your battery when unattended. Do not overcharge the battery (ensure you use the charger provided). When using smart chargers, be aware that damaged or malfunctioning batteries can still become overcharged and become hot, ignite, or explode. As such, never charge your battery unattended, even when using a Smart Charger.
-
Immediately discontinue charge/discharge of the battery if it emits an odour, feels hot, changes shape or colour, or appears to exhibit any other abnormal behaviour. Never use water to cool down an overheated battery. Never compress, put excessive pressure on, or puncture your battery. In the event you come into physical contact from the acid of the battery, rinse the area well with water or vinegar and immediately seek medical care.
